Where All Gifts Are Under $5
I’ve heard some horror stories about people not making enough to live off of. Currently we don’t make much at all about 1000 a month and we have two children. My husband joined the navy and will be leaving for boot camp in a few months. I have the base pay charts and everything, but is it really as bad as it seems, or is that more so if you don’t know how to save. I’m really asking if you can live comfortably and not paycheck to paycheck. Thank You!!!

You will be ALOT better off with him in the military. Even if he is an E-1, his base pay alone will be almost $1400. Also, he will get BAH for your current area (a link to check the rate of your area is below) and separation pay after being apart for 30 days. You and your kids will get free medical and discounted dental if he enrolls in Tricare starting the day he leaves for training. If there is a military base close to you then you can go there and shop at the base exchange and commissary once you are in DEERS and get an ID card.
It is possible to live comfortably while in the military. The ones who live paycheck to paycheck usually tried to live beyond their means, or have large families to take care of.
