I’m not a stupid person but I can’t balance a checkbook to save my life and I have a lot of trouble making my money last between paydays, paying all the bills, etc. Any suggestions? (be kind!)
My boyfriend and I had a huge fight over the past three days over our account. We went through $1,200 in a span of two weeks. I think that is ridiculous.
But I looked at our account and realized that there wer’nt many expensive purchases. Just alot of small insignificant ones that didn’t seem expensive at the time. I also counted how many times we bought fast food or went out to eat. 13 times. That’s not even including the times we went out to eat with friends and they paid.
I’m trying to budget myself at this very moment and obviously I have a little way to go before I can go telling other people what to do with thier money. But if I can suggest anything it would be to eat out less and make your own food at home. It’s so much cheaper and there is no one to tip.
All in all, check out your bank statement and see what you spend most of your money on. See which is really neccesary and what seems ridiculous. You’ll remember that the next time you go shopping.
